5 Steps to Healing Your Life by Living from Your Heart
I wake up to the constant chatter in my mind as it goes round and round trying to determine the next best step to take to create cash flow in our businesses, so we can maintain our wonderful life of freedom. “How can we keep going on without more money coming in,” my ego mind keeps saying over and over. In the wee hours of the morning it begins – sometimes at 3 am, sometimes at 4 am – but sure to keep me from getting a whole night’s sound sleep once again…
Finally, I remember to turn away from the chatter and turn instead to my spirit, which has sustained me through many, many dark nights of the soul over the years. I begin to picture Jesus and I give my mind to Him to guide me once again, as best I can. I call upon the Angels to help me get through another day of worrying and fretting, all the while knowing that worrying is not at all productive and will not help me overcome my fears.
Finally, it dawns on me, once again, to turn to those before me who have already been where I am – to read about their experiences and solutions and see if I can find peace and resolutions in my own life from their examples. I thank God for all those who have taken the time to write down their journeys through life, so that all us hurting souls can find our way a little easier. And so I’m on another determined path to find the life of peace, freedom, and financial success I long for in my heart and soul.
Like so many these days, I have been living on credit cards when the cash flow from our businesses cannot keep up with our expenses. I have learned over the years that your credit score is monumentally important, so my goal is to maintain a healthy credit history – no matter what – until our businesses begin attracting the customers that will allow us to thrive once again. It’s taking a little longer this time than it has before…
While I’m going through the ups and downs of an economy that has most of the world in chaos, I know my #1 goal has to be to stay in the mode of loving, appreciating, and allowing ideas to flow freely through me. In order to stay in this expansive open space of ideas flowing, I have to keep my heart open. This I strive to do every day – all day.
Here are 5 steps I have found to keep my heart open to the wisdom that can see me, and you, through even the darkest nights of the soul.
1. Practice loving, positive thoughts and actions. In this attraction based world of inclusion, I know if I allow stressful, fearful thoughts or feelings to dominant my mind and heart, they will multiply until that’s all I can see and feel. They will strangle any good that may be trying to make its way in. So, the first step has to be to make a moment-by-moment conscious effort to think, speak, feel, and act out only good, loving thoughts and feelings in my heart.
2. Forgive myself when negative “stuff” creeps in and tries to take over, because in this world of being constantly bombarded with negative, fearful news, it’s bound to catch up with me eventually. The quicker I forgive myself for buying into the outside influences – and forgive the sources of this negativity (since they’re in a different frame of mind than I) the easier it will be for me to release and move on…
3. Express the goodness and love that is in the world around me. It’s there, it’s everywhere if you just take the time to look for it and appreciate it. As you give expression to the love you feel for the good things in your life, the more it will grow.
4. Your heart is the center of everything good in your life. Send love to your heart; bless your heart; bless your body – no matter what the size or shape. Your blessed body and heart allow you to live in this physical experience, on this beautiful Earth, which gives you access to a multitude of options for creating the life you truly want to live.
5. Bless the people in your life and all those you encounter on your journey through life. They are your reflection of the state of your mind and heart, and they can act as a compass leading you to the thoughts you need to think and the feelings you need to foster to rise above all of life’s ups and downs.
When you’re in the middle of your own crisis, it’s difficult to think past what is before you. But if you can take these steps to live a more heart-centered life, to live from your center of love and compassion for yourself and all those you encounter along the way, you will find your life turning around in expected and unexpected ways; and hopefully you will make a difference in the world and even sleep a little better.
