Using Hypnosis and Rational Emotive Behavior Therapy to end the Procrastination Guilt Cycle
r? Do you then feel guilty because you have not met your goals? Do you often get frustrated feeling that the work ahead of you is too frustrating? If so, rational emotive behavior therapy and hypnosis can help.
Many times it becomes hard to prioritize and put important goals front and center. This can be due to many reasons including: 1. other matters get in the way, 2. there is something that you are dreading about the task at hand, and 3 you may feel that you will fail or do worse than you would want to do. No matter what the reason is, you may often put yourself down for not completing this important goal.
Hypnosis and rational emotive behavior therapy work together to help you to achieve your goals. First, you visualize your success. This includes overcoming the barriers in your way. You learn to recognize thoughts that block your goals. Also, time management is important in promoting goal accomplishment. It seems that busy people are more likely to accomplish their goals than people who have time on their hands. One reason for this is then when you have time on your hands, you often put off until later what could be done now. When you look over your day,the task was not completed.
With rational emotive behavior therapy, you learn to dispute the self defeating irrational beliefs. You also learn skills like time management and problem solving. Learning takes place both consciously and during hypnosis. As you develop belief in your abilities, good time management skills, and increasing the value of the goal, your goals are achieved. You then feel that you are successful even if you are not entirely perfect. Everyone fails at some things. You learn to accept failures as learning experiences which give you the needed information that promotes your future success. Thomas Edison failed 9,999 times when he was working on the electric light bulb. Many of us are glad that he persisted because on the 10,000th time he succeeded.
If you read the biographies of famous people, they persisted because they believed in themselves and viewed failure as lessons on the way to success. Abraham Lincoln failed many times before he became one of the greatest presidents. He had a strong belief, lots of compassion, and perseverance despite many failures.
I had a client who got laidoff due to the recession. She needed to look for a job, but often put this task off until later. When she began to look at her irrational beliefs and to see an image of her success, she got a job that she wanted. She was able to see that even though looking for a job was difficult, it was not impossible or intolerable. She found one job and could find another one. With practice interviewing and writing letters of inquiry, she got more proficient at these skills. She sent out more inquiries and had more interviews under her belt. Eventually, her work paid off with the desired job.
Another person whas looking for housing. He would get discouraged and give up. When he began to dispute his irrational belifs and see that his thoughts were defeating him, he was able to find a place to live.
No matter what it is that you want to achieve, you can do it as long as you put the goal as a priority and remove self defeating thoughts and beliefs. It is only by making your mind work with your actions that success is born. The greatness in you can only come alive with belief and good problem solving and time management skills. Learn these skills and imagine your success and soon your goal will be an achievement.
